What is DriveTrace?

DriveTrace is a GPS car drive tracker for iPhone and Android. You record your own drives, attach them to cars in your garage, and share distance with friends on weekly, monthly, and all-time leaderboards. It is a driving journal and social mileage app — not a fleet tracker and not a vehicle history report.

Is DriveTrace a drive tracker or driving tracker?

Yes. DriveTrace is a drive tracker app — a car drive tracker and car driving tracker for recording the trips you take. It is a driving tracker for your own miles (commutes, road trips, weekend runs), not a magnetic GPS puck, insurance dongle, or a way to follow another person’s car.

Is DriveTrace legit?

Yes. DriveTrace is listed on the Apple App Store and Google Play as DriveTrace — Car Drive Tracker. The website is drivetrace.dev. Location is recorded only while you are tracking a drive (and in the background only if you grant that permission). You can delete your account in the app or on this site. If something looks off, use the Contact page and we will reply by email.

Is DriveTrace the same as drivetrace.co.uk?

No. DriveTrace on drivetrace.dev is a GPS drive-recording app. drivetrace.co.uk is a separate UK vehicle-history / DVLA report site that we do not operate. We do not sell vehicle history checks, MOT reports, or keeper data. If you searched for a “drive trace report” on a number plate, that is not this product.

Does DriveTrace track other people’s cars?

No. You only record drives on a phone that is signed into your account. There is no way to attach a tracker to someone else’s vehicle or to follow a car you do not drive. Friends can see limited drive stats you choose to share — not a live stalker map of other drivers.

How does GPS recording work?

Start a drive in the app. DriveTrace captures the path from your device GPS and computes distance, duration, and speed. When you finish, the drive is saved to your account, can be linked to a car in your garage, and can count toward friend and country leaderboards.

Is DriveTrace on iOS and Android?

Yes. Download DriveTrace from the App Store on iPhone or from Google Play on Android. The same account works across the product; this website is the public home, privacy, and support presence for the app.

What happens to my location data?

Precise location is collected while you record a drive, so we can build the route and stats. We do not sell your GPS track. You can delete individual drives or your whole account. Details are in the Privacy Policy, including how long data is kept and how to request deletion.
